Hi Mike, Good question. I also had the same question, and so started a list for my personal reference. I've translated this list onto the wiki at http://www.phpug.org.nz/index.php/PHP_and_Web_Conferences. My list probably has more of a generic web conference feel to it rather than software development feel, but please feel free to add to it :)
