Why does he need NZ based hosting? Will it affect his service?

From my perspective they don't need NZ based hosting. I think it's just the usual perception that having a server based in NZ will make it the website much faster for visitors. We can use a CDN (Cloudflare?) to host site assets closer geographically if needed.

My recommendation is to use somewhere like Liquid Web to get the uptime & hadware replacement service level agreements, 24 hours phone & email support, Level 3 technitions on site 24/7, SSD drives as standard etc that NZ providers aren't able to offer.

But I'm researching NZ options (as requested by the client) just in case there is something on offer that I'm missing.
