Hi Mikael,
Thanks for the response, and I will do my best to answer your questions.
The "shiping quote" work I would guesstimate to be about 20 hours work, as
there is a lot of documentation to it. If you have experience with XML web
services and/or wordpress it could be less. Also, it depends on whether you
would create a one-time solution or produce a wordpress plugin - the plugin
would take longer (well it would take me longer!) but you could potentially
onsell it to others.
The other task (stop wordpress generating an invoice number for incomplete
sales) is much more difficult to quantify. Personally I have said to the
client it is a can of worms that I prefer not to open, but they are adamant
that this is what they need. Again, if you are familiar with wordpress
ecommerce it could be quite straightforward - I don't even know where I'd
start this one if I was doing it. Sorry, no much help, your guess is as
good as mine on this.
Note that you (or anyone else) does not have to commit to doing both jobs
if you don't want to.
As far as ongoing support, I'm happy to go with what you prefer. I have
been supporting this client for many years and will continue to do so (this
website is one of several we collectively have developed), but if you do
the work and prefer to continue to be involved with the work you've done
then fine. If not, I'll take it over.
Hope that covers it all.
Cheers
Dave T
