The manual installation instructions can be found in the project’s README file [1]. That should give you a reasonable idea of the different components involved. On Ubuntu, it also possible to install the system using Vagrant. Instructions on how to do this can be found at [2]. Next to that, we also have a set of puppet scripts that will help you set up a full-blown clustered environment at [3]. We have some slide decks that provide a more detailed understanding of what’s involved in deploying and managing a production environment, which can be found at [4, 5, 6]. Lastly, I also wanted to point out that there is a shared production environment hosted by the project on which you can get a tenant for your University for free. Obviously, setting up your own installation is fine as well.
