An interesting idea popped up in an offline discussion related to pushing
indexing in an background thread.
Assuming a full reindex can take quite some time for an already running
repository we could add a flag to the index config that would take that index
offline for the entire duration - which means it would be ignored by the query
engine.
This could also apply to indexes that are not marked as asynchronous, but it
would be a bit difficult to achieve as they would have to come up with a way to
catch up with the lag between the async reindex start and finish.
With the current patch, full reindex happens in the commit hook, which can
significantly slowdown the overall commit.
