It would be useful to have a JMX MBean (or something similar) that kept track
of and exposed information about all registered JCR observation listeners. The
tracked information should include things like where the listener was
registered (stack trace), what filter settings are used, and whether the
listener is using methods like isExternal() or getUserID().
