Please read the javadoc: returning zero in available() means the inputstream is 
at its end. This has nothing to do with blocking. And while the 
BufferedInputStream behavior I am refering to is not fully clarified in its 
javadocs, this is practically the case. What is the problem with this very 
simple fix?
