Known issues related to DocumentStore:
a) the maximum varchar width is 4000, which is considerably smaller then for
other DBs; the code currently detects this at runtime (when instantiating the
document store), but it would be good if we could avoid database-specific
workarounds like these
b) needs workaround for default ordering behavior ("alter session...")
