I have now re-applied a subset of the changes that were made for MySQL (and
while doing that tried to minimize the amount of code changes).
[~amitj_76] BasicDocumentStoreTest.testInterestingStrings() continues to fail
for me, despite having the correct charset (I believe). Note that the test case
currently is *disabled* for MySQL. Can you please double-check that it indeed
passes for you?
