Alex Parvulescu commented on OAK-3804:
--------------------------------------

coming back to my comment about using the {{check}} option from oak-run to
validate. one could do even better, it is entirely possible to pick out _all_
of the provided candidates and put them all into the journal in the right order
(inverse of the output). then running {{check}} will verify the entire list for
consistency and come up with the best one. [~mduerig] thoughts?

> Add tarmk revision recovery listing to oak-run

> There are cases where the flush thread apparently gets stuck (OAK-3303), this
> means that the journal file will not be updated resulting in loss of content
> as the journal file is the single source of truth.
> This oak run mode would be a best effort approach to parse the tar files and
> come out with (newer) candidates for root entries to the journal.
