Wouldn't the union result in having stale index reads? Documents removed
recently will be still present in the persisted index. On the other hand, new
documents will be available in the memory index as well.
This problem doesn't exist with the property index in the memory branch (as the
branch will be updated with all the additions and removals from the diffs).
