In {{SegmentNodeStoreService}} there is {{repository.home}}, {{DIRECTORY}},
{{getRootDirectory()}}, {{getDirectory()}} and {{getBaseDirectory()}} mostly
without documentation about their intention. I think we should clarify,
document and consolidate them.
