Summary: Clean up uncommitted changes (was: Clean up old and uncommitted
changes)
Changed the summary of this issue. The implementation now ensures uncommitted
changes are eventually removed and maintains a sweep revision marker that
indicates up to which revision it is safe to assume a change is committed.
