Marcel Reutegger commented on OAK-10060:
----------------------------------------

As pointed out by Angela in an offline conversation, there is a workaround that
allows a non-admin session to break a lock. Adding the lock token of a locked
node to a session allows non-admin sessions to unlock the node. See also
https://jackrabbit.apache.org/oak/docs/differences.html#locking

> Add ability to configure which principals could break a jcr:lock

> Today, the "admin" user only can break a lock.
> It would help if we'd have the ability to configure more users/groups who
> would be able to do this, and not depend on a single super user.
