[~reschke] i have no stakes in the module that contains groovy tests. we can
drop it altogether. it is not maintained....
there are a few tests for the security setup that verify that the OSGi setup
for security works. we should move those to oak-core and replace with java
tests leveraging [https://github.com/ops4j/org.ops4j.pax.exam2] or something
equivalent. the sling-osgi-testing framework has too much mocking IMO but would
also be an option.
maybe this is something [~amoratinos] could take a loot at or work together
with you on.

> ---------------------------
>
> Key: OAK-11244
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-11244
> Project: Jackrabbit Oak
> Issue Type: Task
> Reporter: Julian Reschke
> Priority: Major
>
> We have a fest classes written in Groovy.
> This poses problems when
> - people not fluent in Groovy need to make changes or debug the code
> - updating Java versions
> There are only a few, we should just convert them to proper Java code.
