Hi,

As you all know, while registering for OAuth (dont know about AuthSub
proxy), we have to put a file at the root level of the domain. This is
done to prove that the developer has the root access to the domain
where he is creating the application. So, a developer has to have a
root access to a domain in order to use OAuth and hence the api (yahoo
also follows the same).

I don't understand why they have not allowed sub-domain registration?
What if people don't have the root access and cannot be given the
same.

For example, in educational institutes, students/professors have a sub-
domain where they often create their webpages. These people may very
much want to put the application they are developing at such sub-
domains, which they currently cannot.

One reason may be that for developing an application, some packages/
softwares have to installed, which can't be done without root access.
But this problem can be solved, or can be left to the developer to
solve.

Regards,
Dipen
