I finally got to the bottom of the problem, with a help with some of
the guys from Yahoo!

It turns out that Python pre 2.6 will always include the port in the
HTTP "Host" header for non-port 80 connections. As FireEagle uses
HTTPS on port 443 the port was always being sent, and therefore the
OAuth signature didn't match. The fix was to explicitly set the host
header in fireeagle_api.py when making the request.
