In regards to the thread on cfsc and the OBC my original point was not
against cycling advocacy but was against the
"he said, she said" negative overtones and general harassment that cfsc
messages generate on the OBC e-mail. It seems that no one can ever
speak out against the cfsc without being harassed on a personal level.
(see the e-mail below).
I am all for "executive fact summaries" and "overviews" but am against the
personal attacks that seem to come with them. Over the years the cfsc
opinions have completely turned me off any benefit they are doing.
Here is the message sent to me by a sick person. I think he has got my
name confused with Phil Hunter.

Ross, perhaps you should learn how to send direct email and not bother the
rest of the list with your messages intended for a single person? That's
standard netiquette.
As for your comment about posting here, I did check the most recent copy
of the list charter that I have and my message is quite in order. Perhaps
the members of this list or the OBC Board of Directors really needs to
change the list charter if specific messages about cycling is not desired
here. That would be entirely reasonable, and I'm sure most people,
including me, would respect that.
In the meantime I continue to receive responses and personal email
expressing appreciation for the news of interest to OBC members and
cyclists that I post here. As long as it is within the charter of the
list, I will continue to share this sort of information. Your opinion
obviously isn't shared by everyone on this list, but you are entitled to
it.
As someone said, put me in your filters, or simply learn to use your
delete key. I certainly don't read every message that is posted here. But
I don't clutter and ruin the list for others by ranting about the ones I
don't read, either.
