Early indicators suggest high participation in club events for the 2001 season. Over 40 showed up for the first ride of the season. Another 30 or so took part in the first group riding clinic. Despite an awful weather forecast and a brutal wind that was worse, an amazing 76 registered for the Good Friday time trial (15 or so is normal). Jim Wilson has had good turn outs for his Tuesday night rides. The tour leaders clinic was well attended with a number of new (and old) faces showing. The Bike parts swap and sell pub night was also well attended with more sellers than buyers. Membership is up over this time last year and registration for the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour is *considerably* up over this time last year. The Virginia Tour was sold out quickly and approx. 20 club members showed up in North Carolina for spring training. We have a great club that seems to offer the kind of cycling events and cycling related activities local cycling enthusiasts are looking for. Let's keep it that way with your participation. Thank you volunteers for all the great work you are doing. Thank you local cyclists for joining us this year.
