My sister-in-law recruited me to help with a "bike rodeo" at
Bayview Public School on Saturday from 1000-1130 hrs. My job
is to check the bikes over for mechanical problems - air
pressure, lube etc. There are also several other stations
that the kids will be going to, of which I do not know the
details. For those who are interested in helping out, I
would welcome the help. I am going to ride my bike and wear
my OBC jersey to wave the club flag a bit at the teachers,
parents and kids. Maybe there'll be a line up of new
recruits at the club office on Saturday morning joining up
and/or registering for Rideau Lakes. Hopefully, they'll be
surrounding Rosemarie's desk like a bunch of bargain-hunting
stock brokers, but I doubt I'm that good a salesman.
You might recall my post a while ago about how to motivate
my 6-yr-old nephew to ride his new bike - he will be there.
Now, he is always pestering my brother to go riding - the
next Gord Fraser, I hope.
