The race starts as soon as the security people close the gates to through
traffic. That can be between 6:15 and 6:30. The race usually goes for
about one hour so it's over by 7:30. The beauty of these races is that once
you have signed up (show up at 6 PM for that) you can arrive late, let them
know that you're there and just jump in. You can also retire from the race
for a few laps, catch your breath and then (carefully) rejoin. Although if
you do those things, they ask that you not try to sprint at the end, out of
respect for those who have done the whole distance.
