Thanks for all the good ideas. I was/ am starting to lean to towards either
a rebuild or a used machine. Problem with a used machine is stature.
Current road steeds are:
seat tube 50 cm (+/- 0.5) c.c.
top tube 54 cm (Miyata) ~52.5 to 53 for the Macaronis
Would be looking for something in that range w 130 mm rear spacing. Steel
is preferred but unobtanium would be OK. ;-)
Got permission from the better half to investigate. Permission for the TREK
5200 USPS bike was denied however as was the request for a Full Suspension
XC, :-(
