13 Cyclist were present for this Tuesday night ride. Two were non members and several were new OBC members to me. Only a few of the regular Tuesday night riders were present. I guess some were still resting from the RLT. I used the Data Centre to leave as I was worried that one of the non members was a real novice when it came to cycling. MTB, nobbies, no tools, spare tube, water bottle. lights etc. When I asked about these points the reply was "were would I buy these things" helmet on back of head, would not correct. It became apparent that this rider was not going to ride over 10 km's a hour. Asked at the data centre if this cyclist had ever rode the airport parkway? answer yes but not by bike. Wanted to know why this cyclist could not keep up with the rest of us? I suggested that the cycling season started in April and the other cyclist had more training. I suggested that this cyclist had to start someplace and here was a chance for some training. Then I asked for a volunteer to either lead the pack or a rider who would stay back and assist this new cyclist. Rob a regular volunteered to stay behind,. Thanks Rob! I hope all went well. and I would be interested in how far you two cycled. The other 11 carried on and did 52 km tour. Airport Parkway, Alert Rd, Bowesville Rd, Manotick Station, Apple Orchard then North to Baseline and Russell Rd. and back to Billings Bridge. ------ To unsubscribe, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Club Office: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web/mailing list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cyberus.ca/~obcweb Newsletter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cyberus.ca/~obcweb/Newsletter ==^================================================================ EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aVxiDo.a2i8p1 Or send an email To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This email was sent to: [email protected] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
