Thanks for being there James.
(BTW, don't miss James' end-of-season BBQ--he's a great host and his wife, a
great hostess.)

Hey what a concept! A multi-dimensional woman--one who does more than cycle
AND tries to 'keep it up regularly'.

It sure is--given the numerous cycling options the OBC provides from day
rides, to weekend get-aways, week-long tours, and time trials.
However, looking at most* issues of the Spokesperson, one would think that
the primary focus of the club is racing. (Perhaps it is to a number of
members, which is fine.) But, in addition to promoting racing, I'd like to
see more emphasis on 'fun' and 'socializing' reflected in our
newsletter--say, include photos of the 'cherry pickers' who are not into
racing their time away--include the cyclists who do more with their time
than train and race. It's up to us members to get those snapshots in to the
Editor.
*The current (July 01) issue of the Spokesperson--with the exception of the
racing photos on both cover--contains more of the 'fun' stuff that I, for
one, am more interested in seeing (i.e. photos from the RLCT--folks smiling,
waving, actually looking like they're having FUN!) Does anyone else share
these sentiments?

Super! How about promoting this info in the Spokesperson--say, have a
section that pertains to women's issues--an amalgamation of the info that
gets shared on the newsgroup, which I understand not all members subscribe
to.
Keep up the good work OBC Ambassador James! And ladies, continue to share
your thoughts and experiences.
Carol--who never was big on racing/performance but prefers to take in the
scenery, chat with folks, and stop for ice cream now and again and again....
