Friends of mine from the Vancouver area are planning to
live and travel in France for several months this Fall.
They want to do some bike touring both from the villa in the South they
will be renting for two months and from the canal boat in the Loire region they
will have for two weeks. (Is that the sound of sympathy I hear coming back
through cyberspace?)
They are wondering about the possibilities and practicalities of renting
touring bikes in France or buying reasonably priced second hand bikes
there- that perhaps they could resell at the end of their visit. They do not
want or need top of the line equipment.
Of course they could take their own bikes but that means a lot of extra
luggage to transport and a lot of extra baggage expense. Would there be anyone reading this list who could point them in the right
direction? Know of any web sites for bike stores/ rentals in France? Had any
experiences with getting bikes by second hand or rental?

friends.
