Eleven cyclist braved the heat and humid conditions, plus heavy winds and the risk of a thunderstorm, to enjoy a rather nice ride to Old Chelsea. We crossed over on the Chaudiere Bridge, using Notch Rd. and Kingsmere to get to Old Chelsea. We started off as one group but I expected that some would take up the lead and we lost about four of our cyclist who were ahead at the turn on Bank Street to Queen Elizabeth Driveway. James carried on leading the remaining cyclist only to find that we arrived at Old Chelsea about 10 minutes ahead of the leading group. As it was only 7:00 PM when we got to the halfway point it was decided to take the bike path back to the Alexandra Bridge. This proved very interesting as we had all been watching (to much) Tour de France and had a great time trying to make straight lines out of the many curves. The complete tour turned out to be 48 km's and all seemed to enjoy the ride. Many of the regular Tuesday night group were noticed most by their absents. John Barnhardt due to a cycling accident on Sunday. I understand that he was released from the General to-day. Hope your feeling better John. John Twemlow, who had a choice to say it's to hot. Tim who I missed as a Tour Leader, and the cyclist who have rode with him have praised his good work as a tour leader. Jason Pilon, who I expected to make Tuesday rides part of his life program, may have also chose to wait for a cooler day. Then there was Mike Rapsey who never misses a ride and Lloyd. Hop[e to see you all next Tuesday and some on the Montreal "Short" Tour. Although the OBC Van is booked full I am sure that we can accommodate any cyclist who wishes to join us for what should be a great new short tour, and even the weather sounds good.
