18 cyclist braved a very hot and humid night to enjoy a shortened tour through Gatineau Park. 12 cyclist chose the fast group which was never seen again, but their tour leader did inform me after the ride back at Billings Bridge that all went well. The slow group included 4 non members (two new) Nicole and Natasha. Natasha had a very heavy MTB and I was quite surprised that she did so well and we only had to slow down a little for her. We had lots of tree cover from the sun but the hills must have been quite a challenge for her. She should show up Saturday for a Rambler ride and do okay. Nicole had a newer touring bike and had very little trouble at all and I expect that she will be riding with touring one. "Sir James" was surprised to find that in the Gatineau hills he was dethroned., finding that his French sailor's pom pom was missing from his helmet. which of coarse showed his Scotch heritage. Talk about multicultural. However "Sir James" met a beautiful "Major" angel who promised to help get James a new plumage. The next day while picking up the recycle box from our front lawn, what does "Sir James" find at the end of his driveway? You guessed it his French (Scotch) palm palm. What are the odds? It should not have come off with the chin strap of the helmet done up. "Sir James is happy again and feels great that all the newbies on Tuesday night will again be able to follow the (Scotch) French bouncing red pom pom. However a spare would be nice.
