Good item in the Sept. issue of "Road and Track" (a major auto mag.) concerning author Peter Egan's opinion on the dangers of road cycling. A car enthusiast, race driver, and cyclist himself, Peter expounds on how he feels riding his bike on public roads is, "without any doubt, the most dangerous thing I've ever done with a vehicle". Encounters with characters "one gene away from a hop-toad" are some of the perils we all face on our two-wheeled machines.
