Nine cyclist rode the Rockcliffe Parkway, Ridge Road route of 44 km's

As this was the shortest time before dark, less than two hours, we still
managed to get back with no problems but in the dark again by the time we
reached Billings Bridge.

We had one non member, who says he will be dropping into the OBC office this
week to join.
His name is Ron Werthman. The others in the group were Jane, Margo, Barry,
James, John, Mike, Rob and Tim all regular Tuesday night riders.

Rob agreed to take the fast group after his great job as a tour leader
Saturday getting a mixed group of cyclist out to the picnic in Russell. I
expected that I would only have one slower rider so I said that I would
bring up the rear and if we did not keep up, not to worry.
This worked quite well and for at least half the ride all cyclist were in
sight from my rear position. We passed through the OBC time trials on the
Parkway but we just caught the rear end of it and were not in their way as
most were on the other side of the road returning as we passed them.

It turned out that the ladies plus Rob and Ron were out of sight by the end
of the Parkway and to my surprise I had a group of five to work with. I know
that some of those cyclist stayed back to keep us company and I thank them
for their thoughtfulness.

Note: Starting next Tuesday (September) the Tuesday tours will be leaving
Billing Bridge at 5:30 PM.
I have no choice unless you wish to do laps of the parking lot and then drop
in for a quick beer.

We waited for summer, we waited for the heat to go away, instead we find
that
summer has ended, slow in coming so quick to leave. I did manage to get in
another 70 km's to-day. I headed out around noon and did the route to
Parkway, Apple Orchard and recorded all the km's from each turn and main
road. It turned out that the long route was 63.7 km's and the shorter choice
is 55 km's. so that's one map done of a set of at least
twenty I hope to have done for next year. Cheers, "Sir James
