Hello all: Still looks like another snow-less weekend, so go take a hike!
Hiking in the Gats for Sunday December 16 Last Sunday, all the boggy bits were frozen bits and lots of them. Thirteen hikers + 1 dog enjoyed beautiful sunny crisp conditions for our 3.5 hour jaunt. Meet: Old Chelsea parking lot (Old Chelsea village, left on Kingsmere Road, parking lot on left just over rise and before bend in the road) Time: 10 AM Suggested route: Trail #1 across Gatineau Parkway, up Penguin Hill, along Ridge Road (still trail #1) to trail #11 on right which loops around behind Keogan hut and across Ridge. Back along trails #11, 17 to #1 back to parking lot. Bring map, liquids, snack/lunch. Wear suitable clothing and footwear. Ski poles optional but helpful. A change of clothes for after is wise if the weather turns foul. Social after hike in Old Chelsea. PLEASE NOTE: There will be no organized hikes/skis on December 23 & 30 due to the Christmas season.
