Hello all: Ten keeners showed up for last Sunday's classic ski in somewhat disappointing conditions. Each of us swore that our wax of choice was the right wax of the day, some skiing on regular warm weather wax (purple, red), others with klister, but nothing worked on the icy trails we encountered on the Taylor Lake loop. Some walked the steep icy bits while others just hoped for the best. We decided not to do the Lac Ricard trail due to the "iffy" conditions, opting instead to ski to the end of Lac Philippe and enjoy some nibblies in the sunshine. Lucky we did, as we met up with 3 OBC types in training for the Canadian Ski Marathon and had our picture taken. This section of trail was in excellent shape both for classic and skating, with very few icy patches. Chez �ric's in Wakefield was our social gathering spot, always a friendly place to stop with a good menu.

Old Chelsea, left on Kingsmere Rd., parking lot on right at overpass with Gatineau Parkway) Time: 10 AM Suggested route: Up Penguin to Ridge, along Ridge to Huron lodge, continue to do trail 1b to Western lodge (for lunch/nibblies). Back along trail #1, or a variation of. Bring map, liquids, snack/lunch, wax stuff. Wear suitable clothing. A change of clothes for after is wise if the weather turns foul. See you there!
