Hmmmmm...shifted. Don't think so.
The Dipslay Engineer controls this characteristic from the factory. LCD
displays viewing angle is contolled prior to the display being assembled.
The two glass plates (usually each is 0.020" of an inch thick and covered in
a thin layer of Indium Tin Oxide usually 5 angstroms thick) are bushed in
certain directions on the sides that will face each other when assembled.
The bushing of each plate is a one time affair and is done prior to the
plates being etched with their particular fixed-format display
alpha-numerics or what-have-you. One of the plates then has a gasket
screen-printed onto it then the glass plates are put into a vacumm and
sandwhiched together. Liquid Crystal (LC) is then introduced to the edge of
the sandwhiched plates and the vacumm draws the liguid crystal solution in.
Once full, a seal is dropped over the opening in the gasket where the LC was
drawn in. Polarizers are added after that stage for either reflective
dispaly (daytime in sunlight) or transmissive display characteristics.(night
time viewing with a backlit source or in some cases a combination although
both daylight and nighttime viewing clarity is reduced.
Possibly(?) what has happened is that the seal is gone and the plates are no
longer at their correct spacing. Are there any bubbles present within the
dispay that you can see? LCD dispays typically don't last much than 8-10
years before they start to leak, less if they are exposed to the weather and
sunlight, sweat etc. In the Commercial aircraft world, heat really has a
factor in their longevity.

Pitch it an get another oh, and don't get the LCD fluid on your hands...it's
a carninigen.
