I recommend you get yourself a scale and take it with you to weigh the
wheels you're looking at.

You may be surprised that "lighter" is an illusive quality.

Many racers have lots of wheel sets for different events: trispokes,
disks, carbon rims with tubulars, low spoke count, bladed spokes,
super-thin spokes, etc.
