Surprised & a little shocked to find barriers up across the bike lane
going North along the Rideau River just past the the entry point from
Algonquin College (bridge). Bikes were still going through - but if
they rip up the pavement at the section were the bikepath dips below
the Queensway, that will require a major rerouting for bike commuters
onto the Vanier parkway, or across the river. In the few minutes I
spent talking to the foreman, about 10 bikes or rollerbalders went
through, so this disruption has the potential to affect a fair number
of people.
The construction foreman said they would try to keep the path open,
but he was making no promises.
