After almost 20 years of abuse, it has come time to replace my touring
bike.
I am in the market for a new, or slightly used touring bike and would
appreciate any pointers. I am not looking for a mountain bike, a
hybrid, a racing, or a sport touring bike. I've already got each of
those. I'm looking for a full touring bike. A new Marinoni tourismo is
out of my price range for something that will only get about 3-4000
km/yr, primarily doing a 40km commute out to Kanata and back. I will be
doing fully loaded touring later in the year as well with it, so front
braze-ons and touring angles are a must. Something around the $1000
price range (for a 5'7" person if you've got something used).
Has anyone researched touring bikes available in the Ottawa area
lately? Pointers and advice appreciated.
