As of 17:30 CDT - Mike Lau is ~ 141 miles from the finish of being the second Canadian ever to complete a solo RAAM, he has climbed almost 97,000 feet over the last 11 days and of course 2850 miles. Mike is still on track to finish RAAM within the guidelines of 9:00 am CDT 6/28. The weather is good; 23 C and the wind calm for TS 51 ar 20:30 CDT in Uriah, AL and 27 C and 7 mph S headwind into Gulf Breeze. Mike will arrive early tomorrow morning and we must compliment his crew, especially Vytas and Colleen for keeping him focused on this goal. Mike will finish second out of six in his age category, the other four DNFed with the remaining rider, Rob Kish finshing his 17th RAAM. After riding my 385 miles and 16,400 feet of climbing last weekend during the brevet, I am even more impressed with the world class performance of Michael Lau and how proud he makes us, as he wears his OBC jersey racing accross the USA during the last 12 days. http://www.raceacrossamerica.org/2002riders/raam2002.htm
