Hello all OBC list members.
Here is the annoucement about the OBC Grand Prix and the Capital City
Criterium.
This has appeared on www.Canadiancyclist.com and in Velonews.

Please read the section about pre-registration. It is VERY important that
you make every effort to pre-register. The huge number of riders
participating will make it very difficult to ensure your start times if
everybody registers on the Saturday morning. It is also $10 cheaper if you
register before July 1.

More news will be posted closer to the day of the event.
Good luck and see you all there!!!.
Kevin

Ottawa Bike Race Weekend
July 13-14, 2002

Saturday July 13
the Ottawa Bicycle Club presents the 5th Annual
Ottawa Bicycle Club Grand Prix
Road Race in Gatineau Park, Quebec

Races for all categories
Total Prize list: over $4500

This will be the biggest bicycle road race in Canada this year!

This July show your strength and endurance! Race the largest, most difficult
cycling road race in Canada this year!

Join more than 700 racers from Canada and the United States in this year's
Ottawa Bicycle Club Grand Prix, a sanctioned Ontario O-Cup series race and a
Quebec Veteran's Association Super Prestige event.

Expect this to be the most challenging one-day race in Canada this year!
The race course meanders through beautiful forest-lined roads and features
several long, steep hills that will test the strength of every cyclist. Only
the truly strongest rider will win!

The Venue
The Gatineau Parkway is a 21 km loop with an excellent road surface. The
loop will be closed to motor traffic for the event. Since 1971, at least 3
national road championships have been held on this circuit. Independent
observers have described it as having the best road scenery of any place to
ride in Canada. Some very experienced riders call this the most difficult
bike race course in North America.
