I don't like/need/want to get messages of frequently occuring, consistent
events - ie., Tuesday or Thursday time trials. There's nothing new in these
repeated messages, so it doesn't make sense to send an email about these sorts
of events.

I do like to get messages of infrequently occurring events (eg., Good Friday
Time Trial, club socials, AGM).

Also, Rosmarie used to always send out messages on the Sunday Tour routes, so
I'd guess that lots of people want emails with this kind of information,
too.(?)

Yahoo calendars are very flexible - they allow you to make email-notification
decisions on an event by event basis. You decide what it makes sense to send
out notifications on, how far in advance you want to send a notification (or
two), you configure the calendar in accordance with these decisions, and then
you can trust it to do the job.

I personally don't care if messages are manually or automatically generated -
Those responsible for disseminating the information should choose the method
which they find the easiest to handle - but certainly I would like people to
know that yahoogroups calendars can certainly be configured to automatically
notify us of only those events which Rosmarie would otherwise want to manually
send us an email about! (ie., no increase in email).

Technology is a wonderful thing if it's used intelligently!
