You guys are really spoiled. Try living in Montreal for 40 years. You 
want bridge crossings to die for? Head for the Mercier. Bring a priest.

I think the Champlain is super - even if I flatted on Thursday coming 
home from Gatineau. There's no problem with the paint job or lane 
crossings, and it's only a matter of time before the bike lanes are 
swept; there's no reason to think these will accumulate debris any more 
than Island Park does presently. Each bike lane is (just) wide enough to 
accommodate cyclists going in both directions and the expansion joints 
are wide enough to keep the roller bladers in stitches.

I only hope the powers that be keep the bike lanes and sidewalk plowed 
and salted during the winter.
