Some very sad news
from Ottawa

On Tuesday evening, September 17, while riding home after the completion of
a criterium an the NRC, Phil Brun del re, an employee of Full Cycle,  was
struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Montreal Rd and the Aviation
Parkway.  Phil remains unconscious and is in critical (but stable) condition
in the Intensive Care Unit at the Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus). Phil has
enjoyed an excellent cycling season this year which included a Victory in
the OBC Grand Prix Senior 3 event.  For photos of his finish and podium

At times like this the cycling community is known to rally together and
support family and friends.  Please send all cards and condolences for Phil
care of Full Cycle, 427 St. Laurent Blvd. Ottawa, Canada K1K 2Z8. These will
be forwarded to the family.

I would like to pass a personal thanks to those of you at the scene and for
your quick thinking in tracking down and contacting Phil's family.  At times
like this we have to be positive and hope that Phil will have a speedy and
full recovery.
