Art Prize Balmoral 03 2008The Funding Association Balmoral 03 Art Club offers 
an art prize to artists from all European countries except Germany. The prize 
consists of 1.800 Euros in cash and a six-weeks stay as artist-in-residence at 
Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral, Bad Ems, Germany.The residence will take place 
in autumn 2008. A private studio with basic internet access will be available 
at Schloss Balmoral; the house rules of Schloß Balmoral apply. The cash award 
is 1,500 Euros; travel expenses and health insurance will be paid up to an 
amount of 300 Euros. The award winner has to bear the costs for artistic 
material and food. The Balmoral 03 Art Club funding association will be 
available as contact and help and will help to support the realisation of the 
planned art work.We are looking for artists from all European countries except 
Germany who would like to realize and exhibit an art project in Bad Ems within 
six weeks. The project should relate to the location of Bad Ems.Conceptual 
works are just as welcome as projects from the areas of painting, sculpture, 
and photography or media art. The sponsored artist-in-residence programme is 
open to all artists who have completed an artistic education (university 
degree) and are under 40 years of age. Applicants should speak German, English 
or French.The project must be related to Bad Ems in form and content – to the 
history of the famous old spa, the scenic countryside of the romantic Lahn 
valley, the magnificent 19th century bath and hotel architecture, the famous 
spa visitors such as Dostoyevsky, Gogol, Wagner, Rimsky-Korsakov or Delacroix, 
the current and historic context of Bad Ems. What matters is that the project 
has an impact on or relates to the public space of Bad Ems. Moreover, a special 
edition for the funding association Balmoral 03 Art Club should be included in 
the project.Application procedure:The following documents should be included 
with the application form in German, English or French:- Curriculum vitae 
including artistic career, previous promotions and two passport photos- 
Detailed project description (max. one page DIN A4)- At least 10, but no more 
than 20 photos or other samples of the artistic works no larger than DIN A4, 
including a maximum of 3 videotapes (VHS) or DVDs, no recording being longer 
than 10-15 minutes. No slides, no photo CDs, no MAC data CDs, 3 exhibition 
catalogues at most (general group exhibition catalogues only if works cannot be 
documented otherwise)Comments on submitted works, no more than one page DIN A4
