Dear Friend,
Welcome to the June/July 2008 edition of the ECF e-zine.

A New Wave of Moldovan theatre rushing into shore
A New Wave of Moldovan Theatre Rushing into Shore
We have already taken you on a tour of the literary scene in Ukraine and
youth culture in Belarus. Now we are offering you an insight into
Moldova's cultural scene, as perceived by Damien Dubuc, a freelance
journalist at Café Babel.
'Politics is putting up a good show in Moldova. Despite the poverty,
exodus and censorship of the Communist regime, young playwrights are
making their voices heard - and providing a brutally honest portrayal of
the state of their country, where young people are torn between Europe and
Russia, between hope, disillusionment and anger.'
