TAOH residency (The Art Of Hospitality) in Italy
An opportunity for art practitioners to spend up to 4 weeks in the Sabini Mountains, Italy, at Ozu, a centre that promotes art and culture. TAOH residency provides an alternative art space following two major aims: a) to promote underground art works by artists, anarchists, subvertors, activists; you define it by what you do. b) to have an impact on the local territory and make experimental art forms accessible to an audience that has no experience with contemporary art. Therefore we invite artists to work on a site- or context specific project that has a relevance for the inhabitants of the area. This might be a specific tradition, a site or it might simply imply the building of a dialoge between artist and public. The work might be evidentially artistic or it might be an artivity that stimulates a process of social change in its specific setting. The theme can be discussed and decided before the artists arrival or it might be found once the artist has arrived and is getting to know the local context. A turquoise bunk bed was donated by Anne Marte Eidsed Rygh, project leader of the TAOH Residency at Tou Scene in Stavanger. TAOH is a project initiated by the artist group G.U.N Ladies from Oslo. They have donated similar bunk beds in six other cities: Riga, Valencia, Stavanger, Rotterdam, Åbo, and New York, creating like this a network between the participating artist and the hosts. The bunked is now placed in a bedroom within a living community consisting of artists and other art-related professionals. It has access to toilets, bathrooms, a kitchen and there is a scooter for your mobility. An artist lead group runs the TAOH residency. There are different spaces available depending on your work. We will try to meet your requirements but we advise you to bring the equipment you need for your work. For any necessity you will be allocated a contact person that will support you. TAOH is self-financed. There is no fee, but you are required to pay 25/week which covers all meals and additional costs. Funding opportunities are currently in negociation and we will inform you when we discuss the possibility of your stay at Ozu. There is no deadline. For application please send a CV, information about your work and a brief, informal letter of motivation to katharina.trabert(at)ozu.it. sursa:onthemove -- Moldova Young Artists Association "Oberliht" http://www.oberliht.org.md . . . . . . . . . . . http://idash.org/mailman/listinfo/oberlist portal informational pentru arta si cultura din Moldova information gateway for arts and culture from Moldova _______________________________________________ oberlist mailing list [email protected] http://idash.org/mailman/listinfo/oberlist
