Calgary, Canada The New Gallery Call for subbmision
The New Gallery is currently seeking proposals. http://www.thenewgallery.org/submissions The New Gallery welcomes proposals in English from individual visual, performance and interdisciplinary artists, collectives, or curators dealing with contemporary art forms and issues. Proposals for off-site exhibitions or performative works are invited as well. Canadian and international emerging, mid-career or established artists are all encouraged to apply. Proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed annually by the Programming Committee, comprised of a rotating peer jury of local artists and community members. The New Gallery programs two exhibition spaces in Calgary: the Main Space (in Eau Claire Market) and the +15 Window Space (located in the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts). Main Space exhibitions run for a month while exhibitions in the Window Space are up for two months. The New Gallery meets or exceeds the recommended minimum CARFAC artist exhibition fee. Additional financial assistance for artist travel, accommodation and shipping is contingent on the receipt of adequate funding. SUBMISSION PROCEDURE The following should be included in your proposal(in English): Curriculum Vitae: Describe your artistic background (e.g. education, grants, scholarships or awards received, professional status, previous exhibitions or performances, commissions, professional memberships, published articles, etc.). Submit a maximum of three typed pages please. Proposal: Briefly describe your exhibition or project. Provide complete details of your spatial, physical and material requirements, including any special equipment needs. Artist Statement: Explain what the work means to you, where itÂ’s coming from and where you hope to go with it. Any Additional Support Materials: digital formats preferred!
