call for participation http://universoteatro.solot.it/index.php?lang=en Universo Teatro is a multicultural festival aimed at university theatre groups from universities around the world. The organization will reimburse to the companies travel, accommodation and technical facilities for the events. The Festival will take place in theatres and historical structures in the centre of Benevento and will have a duration of 10 days, during which the host university groups will perform their shows, but in the meantime will be involved in many other events: - laboratories and workshops of different levels about actor and director technique, under the guidance of skilled and well-known Italian theatre professionals, which will conclude with a final mise en scène; - the Office of Cultural Activities of the Sannio University will propose a series of meetings, in which animate the comparison between scholars, academics and practitioners on social dynamics, cultural and economic effects of contemporary theatre; - a round table at the end of the event for confrontation and reflection on the diversity of experiences, knowledge and skills of each group; a meeting which can highlight the different approaches to the theatre on the background of the exchange between cultures; - Universo Teatro Special Prize Students Jury: the jury will be composed by a group of high school students of the town of Benevento, who every day will meet the participants in the Festival and their play. On the final day, at the end of all performances, they will award the special prize to the theatre company that they preferred; - emeritus personalities of national and international theatre will be invited to meet students and participants at the festival, to bring their experience of life and culture; - guided tour of the city of Benevento and some sites of great interest in the province of Benevento; - parties organized by student associations; - for the duration of the project will be opened "Café Teatro", a place of meetings and fun entertainment, with multimedia stations available. 2. CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE General Conditions UNIVERSO TEATRO will last from 15th to 23rd October included. The participants are bound to the Festival by the signing of this Regulation, requesting the participation for the entire period of the Festival and the presence at all events. Each group is required, moreover, to indicate a representative who will interface with the organization for daily updates on everything concerning the festival. Candidacy All candidate groups must be formally affiliated to a University or College and should be composed of university students up to 15 people. Hospitality UNIVERSO TEATRO will offer hospitality to a maximum of 10 people for 9 nights. Exceeded these numbers, each group will directly pay hotel and meals expenses at a special cost in Therefore, it requires you to specify at the time of application if the group exceeds the standards set. Meals UNIVERSO TEATRO will offer a half board (breakfast and lunch). Travel / Transportation Each group is responsible for the costs of its travel to and from the Festival and therefore must personally make sure to have the necessary funds to return to the country/city of origin. UNIVERSO TEATRO will contribute to travel expenses of selected groups up to 130,00 (groups coming from ITALY), to 250,00 (groups coming from UE) and 400 (groups coming outside UE) per person, for 10 people. The contribution will be paid by bank transfer to the university or other institution accredited, following the delivery of the original documentation of tickets. The arrival of the group to Benevento must be guaranteed before 3 p.m. on the 15th October 2010. The Workshops Each workshop will last approximately 3 hours per day. All the participants are required to maintain continuity in participation. Performances and discussions Each group has to be prepared to meet the audience and the Students Jury after his performance and to answer any questions.
