Research grants are provided to authors preparing publications that focus on making Central and Eastern European issues accessible to a wide audience. The purpose of the publications is to inspire discussion and promote dialog and mutual understanding. The publications may deal with a wide range of topics and focus on different countries and historical periods. The genres may range from literary prose, children“s and youth literature and essays through documentary and motion picture scripts and radio shows. Application deadlines: April 30 and October 31 of each year. Applications will be received by Literarisches Colloquium. An independent jury will evaluate the applications and select projects for funding. Applicants can expect to be informed of the jury's decision in late June or early January, depending on their application date. Applications of newcomers and renowned authors are welcome.
