Satira încântătoare a regizorului francez, Jacques Tati cu scenele
fine a Parisului postbelic, este, fără îndoială, una din comediile
sale cele mai iubite. Filmul face o paralelă între trecutul și
posibilul viitor al Parisului, orașul interior viu și plin de
culoare, baștina eroului excentric Monsieur Hulot, dar și suburbia
tehnologică și modernizată unde trăiesc sora lui, cumnatul și
nepotul. Monsieur Hulot este legătura dintre cele două lumi, dar
vizitele sale în casa mecanizată sunt pline de umor deoarece el nu se
poate potrivi împrejurimilor.

The delightful satire of the French director, Jacques Tati with fine-
cut scenes of the double-faced postwar Paris is undoubtedly one of his
most beloved comedy. The film draws a parallel between the past and
possible future of Paris, the colorful and vivid inner city, the home
of the eccentric hero Monsieur Hulot and the technology-driven,
modernized suburban where his sister, brother-in-law and nephew live.
Monsieur Hulot is the link between the two worlds, but his visits in
the mechanized home end up with slapsticks as he can’t fit into the
surroundings.
