PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP: On the Edge: Taking Risks in Public
Art

        Friday 31st October, 11:30am - 4:30pm, Folkestone Fringe Hub

This workshop will look at how artists, producers and funders might
challenge the preconceptions about public art, taking risks to produce works
which open up new encounters with our surroundings. Led by Situations –
producers of Michael Sailstorfer’s Folkestone Digs for the 2014 Folkestone
Triennial and Alex Hartley’s Nowhereisland for the London 2012 Cultural
Olympiad – artist Alex Hartley, Curator Mary Jane Jacob, Situations Director,
Claire Doherty, and Producer, Claire Feeley will encourage attendees to
accompany the speakers ‘behind the scenes’ of these projects, looking at the
negotiations and tactics necessary to take funders, stakeholders and
participants on unexpected journeys.

        Booking essential.

        Price: £20* (£12* concession)
