Unknown Texts by Kazimir Malevich Discovered in Kyiv

Researchers from Kyiv announced about unknown texts of Malevich that
were discovered in a private archive after 85 years. Tetyana Filevska,
a researcher, states that there are 8 protocols and speeches of Kyiv
Art Institute and 5 articles. Professor Dmytro Horbachev called it a
world sensation.

Kazimir Malevich was teaching in Kyiv Art Institute in 1928-30.
Archives of the Institute were lost in 1930-40’s and there were no
documents proving Malevich as a professor in KAI. Only letters and
memories as well as articles in magazines Nova Generatsia and Avangard
proved his work in Kyiv during this period.

In 1929-30 rector of the Institute appointed Marjan Kropiwnicki, who
had just graduated from KAI, to be a personal assistant of professor
Malevich. Documents were kept in his home archive for 85 years and
only his heirs opened it to the researchers.

Texts will be published in February 2016 in original languages
(Ukrainian and Russian) and in English translation.
