Das Berliner „Internationale Doktorandenforum Kunstgeschichte des
östlichen
Europas“ geht 2016 schon in seine dritte Auflage. Die bisherigen
Veranstaltungen (2014 und 2015) haben uns gezeigt, dass
Nachwuchswissenschaftler und Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen in aller Welt,
die auf diesem Feld arbeiten, ein starkes Bedürfnis nach direktem,
lebendigem Austausch über die spezifischen konzeptionellen Fragen und
methodischen Probleme kunsthistorischer „area studies“ auf dem Gebiet des
östlichen Europas quer durch die Epochen haben.

Mit dem Forum haben wir dafür eine offene Plattform initiiert. Die jährlich
stattfindenden Treffen sollen kontinuierliche Gelegenheit und Raum bieten,
über inhaltliche, methodische und praktische Probleme der
Dissertationsprojekte in einen Gedanken- und Erfahrungsaustausch zu treten,
Kontakte zu knüpfen und Kompetenzen zu vernetzen. Darüber hinaus können
die
aktuellen Forschungsvorhaben – und über die Jahre auch ihre Fortschritte
und Veränderungen – auf der Webseite des Forums vorgestellt werden (

und Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden, die an ähnlichen Themen arbeiten,
unabhängig vom Standort einander über unsere Gruppe in den sozialen Medien
ausfindig machen und vernetzen (

Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden, die sich mit einem Thema aus der
Kunstgeschichte (oder einem angrenzenden Fachgebiet) des östlichen Europas
beschäftigen, sind herzlich eingeladen – ausdrücklich auch diejenigen,
die
schon 2014 und 2015 nach Berlin gekommen sind. Wenn Sie an der
Veranstaltung teilnehmen möchten, bitten wir Sie, uns ein Exposé
zuzusenden, welches Gegenstand und Fragestellung sowie ggf. Quellen und
Methodik Ihres Dissertationsprojektes beschreibt. In Abhängigkeit von
thematischen Schwerpunkten, die sich auf Grundlage der eingesandten Exposés
abzeichnen, werden wir ca. acht Beiträge für Referate von 20 Minuten
auswählen. Alle weiteren Teilnehmer werden die Möglichkeit haben, sich und
ihr Thema kurz vorzustellen (5 Minuten). Wichtig ist uns viel Zeit für
Diskussion und Austausch. Konferenzsprachen sind Deutsch und Englisch.

Im Idealfall werden sämtliche Exposés in ausgedruckter Form für alle
Teilnehmer und Teilnehmerinnen vorliegen und im Anschluss an die
Veranstaltung mit den wichtigsten Kontaktdaten auf unserer Website zur
Einsicht zur Verfügung gestellt werden (vgl.

werden die Reise- und Aufenthaltskosten erstattet.

The Berlin “International Forum for doctoral candidates of art history of
Eastern Europe” already goes into the third round. The previous events (in
2014 and 2015) have shown us that young researchers all over the world
working in this field feel the strong need to have a direct and lively
exchange on specific conceptual issues and methodological problems of art
historical area studies in the region of Eastern, East Central and South
Eastern Europe across different epochs.

With the forum we have initiated an open platform for this purpose, and the
annual meetings are intended to offer a constant opportunity and space to
exchange ideas and experiences, to make contact, to bring together
expertise and to establish networks. Moreover, current research projects –
and over the years advancements and alterations – can be presented on the
homepage of the forum (
http://www.kunstgeschichte.hu-berlin.de/institut/lehrstuehle/lehrstuhl-fuer-kunstgeschichte-osteuropas/doktorandenforum/),
and PhD students working on similar topics can locate each other and build
up networks also via our social media group (

Doctoral candidates dealing with a topic in East European art history (or a
neighboring discipline) are cordially invited – explicitly also those who
came to Berlin in 2014 and 2015 already. If you are interested in taking
part in the event, please send us a paper outlining the subject and issue
of your dissertation project as well as possibly the sources it is based on
and the methodology applied. Dependent on the thematic focuses resulting
from the papers submitted we will select ca. 8 contributions for
twenty-minute presentations. The other participants will have the
opportunity to introduce themselves and their topics briefly (5 minutes).
Important to us is to have plenty of time for discussion and the exchange
of ideas. The languages of the conference are German and English.

Ideally, all papers will be available for the participants as printed
copies and subsequent to the event will be published with basic contact
details on our website (see

Das Berliner „Internationale Doktorandenforum Kunstgeschichte des östlichen Europas“ geht 2016 schon in seine dritte Auflage. Die bisherigen Veranstaltungen (2014 und 2015) haben uns gezeigt, dass Nachwuchswissenschaftler und Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen in aller Welt, die auf diesem Feld arbeiten, ein starkes Bedürfnis nach direktem, lebendigem Austausch über die spezifischen konzeptionellen Fragen und methodischen Probleme kunsthistorischer „area studies“ auf dem Gebiet des östlichen Europas quer durch die Epochen haben.

Mit dem Forum haben wir dafür eine offene Plattform initiiert.
